Girls in Tourism Association - Africa (GITA-Africa) is a girl-driven, Pan-African youth tourism association committed to advancing tourism by creating borderless opportunities for young people to learn, connect, develop skills, innovate, lead, and participate meaningfully in the tourism industry.

Founded in Uganda, GITA-Africa brings together girls and young people with an interest in tourism and its wider ecosystem, creating a platform for learning, professional growth, entrepreneurship, leadership, collaboration, and industry engagement.

We believe tourism is a powerful platform for youth development and a catalyst for opportunities across hospitality, conservation, culture, creative industries, technology, education, entrepreneurship, employment, and investment.

Our work connects youth with industry professionals, institutions, communities, and partners while creating spaces for mentorship, skills development, knowledge exchange, networking, innovation, and practical exposure.

As a Pan-African association, we seek to strengthen connections among young people across the continent, promote and contribute to a more inclusive, innovative, and sustainable tourism sector. We encourage young people to discover the opportunities within tourism, develop the capacity to take them forward, and actively contribute to the future of the industry.

We are building a community of young people who are learning, creating, leading, and growing together through tourism.
